It went exactly like we wanted it to go. The win in the first round against the Shamrock Rovers makes it easier to advance to the next round, we just need to remain focused also in the second leg. Apart from the opponent technical preparation, that surely isn’t as good as ours - even if they are solid, compact and physically strong - to start well this part of the season is never easy, doesn’t matter what team do you play against and so we are really satisfied with our result.
It was nice to play on the stadium like the one in Dublin, very small, less than five thousands people crowded it completely... But I can ensure you that they made us feel their presence, oh yes, they did. During the whole match they were cheering their team, despite the result. Pure passion, really nice ambience, the experience of times gone by! I was happy to be there. And I’m grateful to the Irish fans for a standing ovation they reserved for me when I entered the fray, I also thanked them after the game through the local journalists that interviewed me...
They also asked me about Bono Vox, knowing well my passion for U2. Dublin is his home, and we won there. But I’m quite sure that Bono will win at our home, Olympic Stadium in just a couple of days. Not the match against Shamrock, though (we’ll be playing in Modena on the 5th of August) but his concert, that will take place in Turin at our stadium on the 6th of August. It will be a success! You just can’t miss it...
